Casting a Wider Net:  Expanding Pathways for Lifelong Music-Making
Relevant music education for all students

Registration is now open for Casting a Wider Net, a one-day mini conference that broadens access points to music education and promotes creativity for all students in every classroom, Kindergarten through University.   The event is open to all music educators, music education students, and classroom teachers who teach music in every classroom, Kindergarten through University.  Through this conference, we aim to
  • To expand music education and CATCH all students who consume and engage in music on a daily basis.
  • To increase enrollment in music education - CATCH the 80% with our net
  • Support and inspire teachers in innovate and new pathways of study, outside and inside of the traditional choir, band, and orchestra.
  • Provide direction and encourage new music educators
  • Encourage music educators to teach multiple inroads so all students can find themselves in music.
We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Randall Allsup, Associate Professor of Music Education at Columbia University, will be our keynote speaker.   We envision unique sessions and open dialogue that will address expanding music programs and innovative approaches to music education.
